Scoop Shop
Located on our family-owned dairy farm, Brigeen Farms, our solar powered Scoop Shop is where all of our creamy, delicious frozen custard is handmade. Step inside for a treat, learn about what it takes to run a dairy farm with 600 mature cows and 500 of their offspring, and watch as we make small batches of no fuss, darn good frozen custard.
Critter Barn
Be sure to visit our family’s well-loved “pet” cows when here, and be welcomed by Stan, the world’s most sociable cat. All of our animals are always ready for attention and love to entertain visitors—little or big!
Solar-powered Ice Cream
Solar-powered ice cream is the best ice cream! We’re proud to announce that we’ve stepped up our sustainability practices to benefit future generations on our planet, and to ensure the longevity of Brigeen Farms.

We worked with South Portland-based ReVision Energy to install a 10.6-kilowatt grid-tied solar electric system on the roof of the dairy barn. These 32 photovoltaic panels provide electricity to either be used in real-time by Brigeen Farms (powering our lights, refrigerators, freezers, and more), or fed back to the grid where it benefits the larger Turner community.
This system generates roughly 12,500 kilowatt-hours of electricity every year, saving Brigeen Farms money on our utility bills. Additionally, the environmental benefit of producing our own local, clean power keeps 11,921 pounds of carbon pollution out of the atmosphere every year, equivalent to planting 90 tree seedlings!
